Signs you Might Need to See a Urologist

When you get to “that age” there is going to be a few things that you notice are different from years ago when you were younger.  Signs that you are going to need to see a urologist can be quite clear, while at the same time, can be confusing for the first time.  Symptoms that you might notice include not being able to “hold it” long enough to get to a bathroom whether you are at home or in a public place.  Urine might actually leak out and onto your clothes without warning.  While these are obviously embarrassing incidents, they are also clear indicators that you should visit a urologist at your earliest convenience.

I have seen that stress is one of the leading causes of incontinence. When you are relaxed or even involved in conversation, there's no telling when incontinence can hit. Some of the symptoms could even keep you from going out with friends or even into public, causing you to lose contact with friends and stay inside during the bad times.  Another sign that something is wrong is that you are actively avoiding sexual intercourse; whether this is because of incontinence or some other urinary problem, it means that something is different than normal.

Heavy pressure on your bladder can also be one thing you might notice that necessitate your trip to a urologist.  If you feel that there's pressure on your bladder and you have to lie down rather constantly, you might have an issue that needs to be addressed.  Some sources claim that you can fix problems like this by flexing your pelvic muscles through various exercises given to you by a trainer, but do not be afraid to call a urologist.

I always advise my patients to come into my office if they are feeling discomfort in their bladder, or have an unusual experience with their bodily systems. Incontinence and other problems shouldn't be shrugged off, because they can be severe problems if left alone.
